⚠️ Important Research Guidance

• Probit analysis models mortality probability as a function of log10 dose or concentration.
• LD50 is the dose associated with 50% lethality, whereas LC50 is the concentration associated with 50% lethality.
• For a reasonably precise probit estimate, observed mortality should ideally bracket 50%.
• At least two partial-mortality groups are important for estimating confidence limits using the standard approach.
• The analysis assumes that log10 tolerance is approximately normally distributed.
• A poor goodness-of-fit result indicates that the fitted probit model may not adequately describe the observed data.
• Dose/concentration values must be positive because log10 transformation is used.
• This tool provides statistical analysis and should not replace study-specific toxicological or regulatory assessment.
